Well done to all 27 waterpolo players from West Dorset, who have just played for Dorset County at ASA SW Inter Counties Competition.
All teams were beaten by Devon and Gloucester teams, who can both boast 2/3 times more water time than us, and more experienced coaching staff.

who represented South West England at the weekend in Inter Regionals in Wasall.

Some very competitive matches fought and lost, ending in 7th Place. Great polo boys- keep playing .

Two sent to trials at Exeter . Phoebe Jones 2003 and Amelia Jones 2005 ( whom I only sent to get experience and a feel for the trial- wasn't expecting to get selected)

Both girls were selected with Amelia being the last team member and advised that she was selected even though a year younger than.all.others, and not as swim fit or technically  knowledgeable as her peers, but selected for her grit and determination in the pool.

This is.the Phoebes first Major competition, though has represented Dorset and West Dorset at water polo and regularly swim competes for Weymouth Swimming club.  Both girls have trained hard,  taking up two water polo sessions, at 1610 in Dorchester for West Dorset water polo and at Osprey with Weymouth and Portland water polo. with Phoebe benefiting with dad Jonahs as a coach at WDWP.

This was Amelia's first taste at competing.  She had experience of game.pay in each match, which has made her even more determined now. Both girls have been nominated to attend for Regional Academy Training places this and next month.

Go girls

Proud coach Tanya
